The journey by minibus from Oudamxay to Luang Namtha takes between 3-4 hours and is yet another beautiful journey.
How to get to the bus station in Oudamxay
The main bus station in Oudamxay is inconveniently located eight kilometres from the centre of town.
It’s easy to get there though! There are shared golf carts, yes golf carts!, which run through town and cost 10,000 kip per person.
Buying a bus ticket from Oudamxay to Luang Namtha
We took a minibus at 10:00 and it cost 80,000 kip which was quite reasonable for the four hour journey.
I was surprised to hear bus departure announcements in Laos, Chinese, Vietnamese and English at this station !It’s rare to hear any announcements at all.
