About Us: Our Story & Connection to the UK
We are Mai (from Japan) and Chris (from the UK). Our journey together began with a shared passion for exploration—we actually met while we were both travelling the world solo. That deep love for discovering new cultures is what still drives us today.
Every year, our return to the UK centres around visiting the people and places that shaped my life, giving us a truly local perspective.
Our main base is New Milton, a charming town in the south where my mother lives. Spending a few weeks here allowed us to enjoy precious family reconnections and local life with close friends. Another deeply personal destination is Norwich and the broader Norfolk area, where I spent many years. We travel here almost every year to catch up with old friends, wander through the historic lanes, and soak in the nostalgic countryside.
While some of these travel stories are still waiting to be written, this hub will be the home for all our genuine family experiences, insider tips, and slow travel adventures across the UK.
