Camlik Steam Museum is a great place for all the family to spend an hour or so and it’s only 10 minutes from Selcuk by minibus. We did this by minibus one morning.

It’s really easy to get to Camlik Steam Locomotive Museum from Selcuk by minibus.
We took a minibus the 10 or so kilometres from Selcuk bus station which is just off the road in the south of town. It was only a two minute walk from the Hotel Nicea where we had stayed.

The bus stand is clearly marked and there are very frequent departures (no posted timetable).
We were the only visitors, although one of the workers at the attached restaurant said they would be welcoming 450 tourists for lunch!

We waited 15 minutes for a minibus to Camlik and the 15 minute journey took us right to the door of the impressive Camlik outdoor Steam Locomotive Museum.

It was great to wander around the thirty or so steam locomotives, clambering up on some and walking through some of the attached carriages.
The whole thing was pretty impressive, including the snow remover. There are some parts of Turkey, especially the Eastern part of the country which gets some serious snowfalls. It’s not just a sunny sea side place, as in the tourist brochures.
