After crossing the border from Laos and spending the night in Bueng Kan, we travelled to Nong Khai.
There is a regular minibus service from Bueng Kan to Nong Khai, which takes about two hours.
From Bueng Kan to Nong Khai
The journey from Bueng Kan to Nong Khai is 138 km. Nong Khao is a town on the border with Laos, with Vientiane, the capital of Laos, on the other side of the Mekong River.
Bus from Bueng Kan to Nong Khai
Minibuses run from Bueng Kan to Nong Khai every 30 minutes daily. Buses to NongKhai can be taken from Bueng Kan Bus Terminal.
The ticket is 150 baht per person and the journey takes approximately 2 hours.
Boarding a bus from Bueng Kan to Nong Khai
We arrived at Bueng Kan bus station just before 9am and were told that the 9am bus was already full. So we had no choice but to buy a bus ticket for 9.30am.
After buying the tickets, we walked out of the bus station and our minibus was already there. 5 minutes later, a man who looked like the driver came and opened the door for us.
He checked our tickets and the bus left without being completely full. The time was 9:10 am. This was a much earlier departure than planned and was great news for us.
Bus journey from Bueng Kan to Nong Khai
The roads in Thailand are very smooth compared to Laos and hate to put it this way, but th difference in economic power.
I arrived at Nong Khai bus terminal just after 11am and the journey took exactly two hours.
