It’s safe to say that Koriyama is not on the tourist trail probably because there are no stand out things to visit! We still spent an enjoyable day walking around different parks and shrines before heading out of town to visit an ancient burial site….which turned out to be closed because of earthquake damage caused by the infamous Fukushima earthquake.
Parks and shrines
There are lots of parks and shrines dotted around Koriyama.

Lunch

Set lunch menus are a great deal in Japan. Our feast cost 850 yen each.
Ancient burial site
After lunch we decided to walk 6kms out of town to an ancient burial site. It was closed! It was a lovely day and always good to take some exercise!

There was a lovely little forest next to the burial site.
