During a recent overnight road trip from Montreal to Cornwall, Ontario, we stayed at the Century Motel.

Stepping into our room, we were immediately struck by how spacious and airy it felt. Even with a large bed, there was plenty of floor space to unpack without feeling cramped.
The room includes several practical amenities that make a road trip much more comfortable:

Having both a fridge and a microwave is a huge bonus when travelling by car, as it allows you to easily chill drinks or reheat food in your room.
The bathroom was spotless, well-maintained, and provided everything needed for a comfortable stay.

Since the motel sits near a main thoroughfare, you do notice some daytime traffic noise outside. However, as evening set in, the area became remarkably quiet.

- Sleep Quality: Thanks to the quiet nighttime environment and supportive bed, we enjoyed a restful, undisturbed sleep and woke up feeling fully refreshed.

One of the best aspects of classic motel layouts is the ability to park directly outside your room door.
Loading and unloading luggage was a breeze, eliminating the hassle of hauling bags through long hotel corridors or elevators.

From check-in to departure, the owner and staff were wonderfully welcoming and friendly. Their approachable hospitality added a personal touch that made our stay feel genuinely comfortable.
4. Evening Dining & Local Amenities
We had originally hoped to visit a local microbrewery nearby for dinner and drinks. However, as it closed at 5:00 PM on weekdays, it did not quite line up with our schedule for the evening.
Fortunately, the motel’s location made pivoting to a local option effortless:
- A supermarket and an LCBO (Ontario’s liquor store) were both located within short walking distance.
- We picked up fresh food at the grocery store and a bottle of wine at the LCBO.
- Back in our room, we reheated our meal using the microwave and enjoyed a relaxed dinner in our private seating area.
Having a comfortable armchair set, a table, and kitchen appliances in the room made eating in feel like a cozy, relaxing end to the day.
